What is Menopause?

Menopause is a natural biological process that marks the end of a woman’s reproductive years. It occurs when a woman’s ovaries stop producing eggs and her menstrual cycle stops permanently. Menopause is usually diagnosed after a woman has gone 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period. While menopause is a normal part of aging, it can cause a range of physical and emotional symptoms in women. These symptoms can vary widely in severity and duration from woman to woman.
